Befesa registered a net profit of 106.2 million euros in 2022, 6% more than a year earlier, at the same time that it achieved the best adjusted gross operating result (Ebitda) in its history, with 214.6 million euros. , 9% more, as reported by the company on Thursday, which will propose a "stable" dividend of 50 million euros for 2023 (1.25 euros per share), equivalent to 50% of net profit, in line with the strategy of 2022.

The hazardous waste recycling firm increased its total annual revenue to 1,136 million euros, while in the fourth quarter of the year it entered up to 295 million euros, 19% more, driven by operations in the United States and the rise of metal prices.

For its part, the company has explained that despite having faced a "challenging" environment affected by Covid, the war in Ukraine, high levels of inflation and a global energy crisis, in 2022 it obtained the "best" financial results of its history, thanks to the resilience of its business model and the contribution of US operations.

According to Befesa, it is "successfully" integrating the operations of the zinc business that it acquired in the United States at the end of September of last year, while its expansion in China continued to advance in 2022, since at the end of the year the firm completed the commissioning of its second plant in Henan (China).

For its part, the firm increased its operating cash flow in 2022, 16% more than in the previous year, to reach 137.3 million euros.
