The turnover of the industry rose by 28.1% in August compared to the same month of 2021, mainly due to the boost in sales from the energy sector, which increased by 84.9%, according to data released this Friday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

With the year-on-year advance in August, almost eight points higher than that registered in July, the industry's turnover has risen for 18 consecutive months after having previously chained a year of negative year-on-year rates due to the Covid crisis.

In monthly terms (August over July) and in data adjusted for seasonality and calendar, the industry increased its sales by 4.1%, its highest monthly rise since last April.
