Ontario police seized more than $61 million worth of cannabis in a major operation in late June in Kingsville, a small town in the south of the province, near the US border.

The Ontario Provincial Police investigation led officers to two massive cannabis greenhouses, as well as two residences, on June 28.

In these four locations, the authorities seized more than 45,000 marijuana plants and no less than eight tons of cannabis.

The value of this major seizure is estimated at more than $61 million.

Various property worth a total of approximately $300,000 was also seized as “offence-related property”.

Law enforcement said no arrests have yet been made in the case as the investigation is still ongoing.

Suspects could therefore be pinned in the coming weeks.
