Mazda recalls 174K cars over faulty seat adjustment links

About 174,000 Mazda vehicles are being recalled in the U.S. because of faulty seats, according to The Associated press.

The risk of crashes can increase because the height adjustment links on seats can break or detach. There was no indication whether the car maker reported any injuries as a result of the faulty seats.

Models covered in the recall include the 2011 Mazda 2 subcompact and the 2010-2011 Mazda 3 and Mazdaspeed 3 compacts.

The recall will begin on March 31. Dealers will install reinforcement brackets or will replace the entire seat adjustment unit.
