MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Public employees who between January 1 and October 31 of this year have changed their destination within the state public sector and those who have gone on to provide services in a different public administration will have to request payment of the additional salary increase of 1 .5% recently approved by the Government, so they will not be paid ex officio.

This is specified in the resolution of the Secretary of State for Budgets and Expenditures, published this Wednesday in the Official State Gazette (BOE), in which the instructions for the payment to the personnel of the State Public Sector of the additional remuneration increase of the 1.5% from January 1, 2022 on November payroll.

The salary of civil servants was increased by 2% this year, but the Government agreed with the unions to raise it an additional 1.5% as a result of the rise in inflation, with which public employees will see their remuneration increased by 3.5% in the year as a whole.

The resolution indicates that it will be on the November payroll when public employees will receive this additional increase of 1.5% with retroactive effect from January 1, under the heading 'Payment arrears increase 1.5 percent 2022', in each one of the remuneration concepts on which the additional increase is applied and the start and end dates to which the settlement of arrears corresponds.

Officials who have not changed their destination or administration will be paid ex officio in their November payroll for said arrears by the ministry, agency or entity in which they are providing services, but for those who have changed their position of work in the same or different administration, are not active or have retired, they will have to request admission to the personnel body of the center where they provide their services. In case of death of the public employee, it will be his heirs who must request payment.

The Treasury resolution also specifies that the additional salary increase will also be applied to senior positions and management personnel, as well as to the rest of the workforce, in the same terms and conditions indicated in the case of officials.
