A pedestrian struck by a vehicle Friday night on Interstate 79 near the Collier exit died, Allegheny County spokeswoman Amie Downs said.

The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes, reducing the highway to one lane for hours while state police investigated, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.
