Pilar González de Frutos, former president of Unespa, has been appointed independent director of VidaCaixa, replacing Paloma Jiménez Baena, who has concluded her term after six years in office, as reported by the entity this Monday.

González de Frutos, who presided over Unespa for 20 years, has also been president of the Inter-American Federation of Insurance Entities (Fides), vice president of CEOE and member of the board of Insurance Europe.

Graduated in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), in 1980 she joined the Higher Corps of State Insurance Inspectors. She carried out supervisory tasks for insurance companies between 1980 and 1983, the year in which she was assigned to the Insurance Compensation Consortium, where she remained until January 1997. She was Director of Operations of this public entity for 8 years.

In January 1997, she was appointed general director of Insurance and Pension Funds by the Council of Ministers, a responsibility she held until December 2002.

He also worked in the Inspection of the services of the Ministry of Finance, until in June 2003 he became president of Unespa.

The board of directors of VidaCaixa has the mission of directing, managing and representing the company and is made up of Jordi Gual (president), Tomás Muniesa (vice president), Javier Valle (director general manager) and Víctor Manuel Allende, Natividad Capella, Esperanza del Hoyo, Jordi Deulofeu, María Dolores Pescador, Xavier Ibarz, Pilar González de Frutos, José María Leal, Juan Manuel Negro, Francisco García-Valdecasas, Rafael Villaseca Marco as advisors.

Óscar Figueres as non-board secretary and Pablo Pernía as non-board deputy secretary are also part of it.
