Running a blog

Whether you're a college student or a 9-to-5 employee, nothing prevents you from running a blog. Anyone can start and run a blog if they are willing to put in the time and effort. Starting a blog requires a significant amount of time and effort, which will only pay off after some time. Let's take a look at the entire process of starting and running a blog.

  1. Pick a Niche

Picking a niche is the first step in blogging. Just like how careful you used to be when playing bonusy bez depozytu kasyno, you have to be careful when picking a niche to meet your business goals. A niche is simply what you want to blog about. For example: do you want to run a blog about housing, gardening, skin care, insurance? etc. These are all niches you can blog about. But the general rule of thumb when it comes to picking a niche comes down to two things:

  • What you know how to do, and love doing.
  • What you don't know how to do but are passionate about learning it.

This way, creating content for your blog will be fun and not boring.

  1. Pick a domain name

A domain name is simply your website name. For example: youtube.com is YouTube’s domain name, google.com is Google's domain name, etc. Your domain name should be related to your niche and easy to recall and access by your visitors. When you are done with your domain name, you have to go online and register your domain name. You can do that on either Goddady.com, namecheap.com, etc.

  1. Get hosting

After getting a domain name, you need a hosting platform to host your blog. Hosting is simply a server that keeps your website files so that your visitors can access them at any time. There are tons of hosting companies out there such as –

  • Bluehost
  • SiteGround
  • Hostinger
  • Hostgator, etc.

Once you pay for your hosting, you can now build and set up your blog. There are lots of YouTube video tutorials on how to set up your blog on any hosting platform.

  1. Start creating Content

Content is where the secret of blogging lies. Bill Gates was never wrong when he said, “Content is King”. But not just content for the pleasure of it. content comes in two categories –

  • Keyword research
  • Content ideas.

Keyword research gives you data about what people are searching for online before starting your work. So that you don`t create content no one will ever need. While a content idea is getting an idea of the kind of content people are interested in. There are video tutorials on YouTube that can help you with that.

  1. Inserting links

This is where the money lies. Links take your visitors to where you want them to go. Is it an affiliate link? Is it a link to an online store? Or is it a link to your product? Whatever you are promoting. But when you are starting out, you surely don't have a product on your own, so affiliate links will be your starting point. Affiliate links are links to other people's products. When you refer a client and the client makes a purchase, you earn a commission. It is called “Affiliate Marketing."

Conclusion

That is all there is! You now have a blog up and running. All you need to do now is keep publishing fresh and relevant content. And make sure you always update old contents and keep them fresh from one year and above. Google loves fresh content and will always send more visitors to your blog if your contents are fresh.
