Sacyr, Enagás and Naturgy are the latest companies to join IndesIA, the association to promote the data economy and artificial intelligence in Spanish industry, a project promoted since 2021 by Repsol, Gestamp, Navantia, Técnicas Reunidas, Telefónica, Microsoft, Airbus, Ferrovial and Inditex.

IndesIA also has the support of the Basque Artificial Intelligence Center (BAIC) and Accenture, and its objective is to promote the modernization and digitalization of Spanish companies through data and AI and, consequently, increase their competitiveness and productivity.

In a statement, the association explained that other organizations and SMEs in the Spanish industrial sector, such as Astican, CAF, Círculo Ingenio Analítico, Cosentino, Elewit, Eselec, Grupo Glem, Inagas, ITP Aero, Wip Industrial Automotion, Surcontrol, Synersight, Padecasa , Danosa, Exolum, Viscofan, Nippon Gases, CSG Engineering and Meleghy Automotive have also joined the business group this year.

In addition, the association has welcomed new technology providers such as Databricks, Bluetab, Verne TECH, Turing and Ghenova Digital, which will enable it to offer its associates "the newest technologies in AI and big data." '".

In this way, IndesIA now has more than thirty associated companies and is represented in nine industry sectors such as telecommunications, textiles, aeronautics or automotive, among others.

The president of the association, Valero Marín, explained that the need to change and modernize the industry "is a reality that is being imposed among companies, public organizations and society in general" and added that IndesIA is "a partner that It will make it easier for them to improve their processes thanks to the collaboration, experience and knowledge of the important companies that make up the association."

The growth of the organization has allowed it to advance in new forms of collaboration and in the creation of new working groups aimed at sharing, between promoter partners and the rest of the associates, knowledge, experiences and points of view.

These meetings have been organized around topics such as generative AI, AI government, technology or the energy sector.

In addition, the association is currently immersed in the organization of the III and IV edition of the IndesIA Datathon, the latter will be focused on Generative AI, which will be held in October and December.

The general director of IndesIA, Nuria Ávalos, commented that the growth they have experienced in their almost two years of existence is "something they are very proud of" and explained that their challenge is that small and medium-sized companies too " know that the application of data and AI is also for them."
