Tremon Staley, 16, and Christian J. Agosto, 17, were shot when gunfire tore through the Tampa Park Apartments as residents were gathered to watch the Sant' Yago Illuminated Knight Parade through Ybor City and celebrate a 9-year-old's birthday Saturday night.

FATAL SHOOTING: People dove for cover as bullets flew

Tampa police said Tee'on Milledge, 17, who was killed, and his friends had a confrontation with another group that escalated for an unknown reason in the housing complex at 1015 Lily White Court.

More than one person fired a weapon when the shooting erupted about 10:30 p.m., detectives said.

Staley and Agosto were treated for gunshot wounds and released from the hospital, Tampa police spokesman Steve Hegarty said Monday. Detectives were still working to determine what led to the shooting, but there is no evidence that it involved organized gang members, Hegarty said.
