The incorporation of companies reached 8,195 companies in the month of July, which represents an increase of 10.37% compared to July 2022 and leaves the total number of companies registered in Spain at 69,765 so far this year, compared to the 63,012 of the same period of the previous year.

The global information services company Experian has published this Wednesday the data of its 'Business Radar of Contests and Demography', corresponding to the month of July of this year.

Regarding dissolutions, the study indicates that July is the month of the year with the lowest number of dissolved companies, registering a total of 3,875, which represents a fall of 4.10% compared to the same month of the previous year.

By autonomies, Catalonia ranks as the first community that most strengthens its business fabric with 1,085 more companies (1,642 new constitutions and 557 dissolutions); Madrid is in second position in the ranking as the community that grows the most in the number of companies, with a total of 845 (1,917 new and 1,072 dissolved) and Andalusia is the third community with a net balance of 825 new companies (counted 1,361 constitutions and 536 solutions).

In the ranking of sectors with the largest number of companies incorporated during the month of July, Wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair rank first (1,543 new mercantile companies in July); It is followed by Construction (with 1,146) and Real Estate Activities (with 858) is in third position.

In the dissolutions section, the ranking is led by Wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair (with 735, 2% less than the same month of the previous year), followed by Construction (582, 15.9% less than the same month of the previous year) and real estate activities (455, 16.9% more than in July 2022).

According to the report, bankruptcy returns to rise in the month of July to exceed 500 procedures in July and reach a total of 2,762 bankruptcies filed in 2023. Despite this rise, bankruptcies register a decrease of 26.1% compared to July 2022 and the accumulated figures so far this year are 23.6% lower than those presented in the first seven months of the previous year.

Regarding the sectors with the greatest number of bankruptcies, in first place is Wholesale and retail trade and Vehicle repair, with 121 procedures initiated. The second place is for Construction with 91 bankruptcy files and Manufacturing industry moves to the third position, with 64 open procedures.

By region, Catalonia leads the ranking of competitions by community with 177 (barely 0.5% more than in the same month of the previous year); Valencia is in second position with 73 (39.6% less than in July 2022) and Madrid with 68 (53.1% less than in July 2023).
