The United States private sector generated 103,000 jobs in November, according to the report published this Wednesday by the consulting firm ADP, which represents a slowdown compared to the 113,000 new jobs registered in the month of October.

Thus, the study reflects that last month there was moderate growth in hiring and another slowdown in salary increases. Both goods and services were "weak", with leisure and hospitality and manufacturing recording declines.

By sectors, the ADP survey data indicates that the majority of employment growth in November corresponded to services, with 117,000 net positions, and with the largest increases in the commerce, transportation and public services sector (55,000) and in education and health services (44,000). On the contrary, the manufacturing industry destroyed 14,000 jobs and construction, about 4,000.

The study indicates that the drop in employment was generated among large companies with more than between 20 and 49 workers, with 16,000 fewer jobs, and in those with 250-499 workers, with 3,000 fewer. At the other extreme, the creation of 71,000 jobs in companies with between 50 and 249 workers stands out; of 33,000 jobs in companies with more than 500 workers and 22,000 in those with between 1 and 19 employees.

For their part, annual salaries increased by 5.6% year-on-year, with micro-businesses with between 1 and 19 employees raising them by 4.8%, and the rest of the firms revaluing payrolls in line with the average or slightly above.
