ANNOUNCEMENT: Arkhé Cosmetics sponsors a turtle accidentally captured by a trawler

(Information sent by the signatory company)

Arkhé Cosmetics has begun sponsorship of Arkhelina, an 8-kilogram juvenile Caretta caretta turtle that was accidentally captured by a trawler. Arkhelina entered the CRAM Foundation Recovery Center in Barcelona on February 13, 2024. Since then, she has received specialized care and attention for her recovery. Arkhé Cosmetics will cover the costs of her care until she is returned to the Mediterranean Sea.

Barcelona, April 15, 2024.- Arkhé Cosmetics is committed to continuing to support conservation initiatives such as that of the CRAM Foundation Recovery Center and to work towards the protection of marine life. Arkhelina is a symbol of hope and a reminder of the importance of responsibility towards the marine environment. Once at the Recovery Center, Arkhelina was diagnosed as suffering from a severe air embolism, likely caused by the stress suffered during her capture. In addition, it had a wound on one of its fins, probably due to the fishing net itself. Thanks to the treatment provided, including the use of the hyperbaric chamber available at the CRAM Foundation facilities, Arkhelina has experienced notable improvement. His wound has healed satisfactorily and he already shows a healthy appetite, consuming a significant portion of his diet of fish. Arkhelina is a reminder of the threats sea turtles face in the wild, such as bycatch. As part of the "Fishermen for the Sea" campaign, CRAM Foundation technicians work in collaboration with the fishing community, making them the first agent involved in the recovery process of these animals, since they are the first to detect a incidental catch and are responsible for activating the rescue protocol.Sea turtles, which have inhabited the planet for more than 150 million years, face numerous threats, from climate change to human pollution. In the Mediterranean, where species such as Caretta caretta are found, protecting its habitat is crucial for its survival. Despite the efforts of organizations such as CRAM and the scientific community, this species is listed as vulnerable by the IUCN Red List.About Arkhé Cosmetics Arkhé Cosmetics is a revolutionary brand in hair care that combines technological innovation with respect for nature.
