LONDON, Dec. 7, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaBroadcast, the UK's leading metadata management specialist, and Gracenote, a Nielsen company, today announced that Barb, the UK's audience measurement service, has awarded a three-year contract renewal to operate its combined content identification and gender assignment system beginning in January 2025.

MetaBroadcast will now use industry-leading Gracenote programming metadata and unique content identifiers to reduce timelines for accurate program identification, validation, enrichment, and genre classification, as well as improve the coverage and accuracy of broadcaster IDs. . The inclusion of Gracenote will also allow Barb to better deduplicate content and speed up reporting from seven days to three days after shows are first available on linear channels or streaming services.
