New FROGMAN Diving Watch with ISO 200-Meter Water Resistance: Multi-component structure offers sophisticated texture and shock resistance
TOKYO, March 15, 2023/PRNewswire/ -- Casio Computer Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of a new addition to the MR-G series, the G-SHOCK brand's flagship line of shock-resistant watches. The new MRG-BF1000R adopts the distinctive asymmetric shape of the FROGMAN line of dive watches.
With an ISO water resistance of 200 meters, shock resistant FROGMAN dive watches employ an asymmetrical design with the case offset slightly to the left to ensure unrestricted wrist movement underwater, a popular feature that has made FROGMAN in one of the distinctive lines of the G-SHOCK brand.
The new MRG-BF1000R offers the asymmetrical design of FROGMAN diving watches in metal form. In order to recreate the original form of resin cast on metal, the structure is divided into multiple components with individual polishing processes applied prior to assembly to bring out amazingly attractive textures down to the smallest details. The box is made up of 76* components, including the O-ring waterproof seal, dampers and other small parts.
In addition, to strengthen the shock-resistant structure, fluoro rubber shock absorbers are incorporated into the exterior components around the case, helping to absorb shock and protect the glass. The caseback employs a push-fit screw-lock construction with sapphire crystal to ensure a highly watertight structure while increasing the sensitivity of receiving radio waves.
The watch also offers convenient functionality with hour and minute hands that rotate together as one in Dive Mode to provide an intuitive, easy-to-read display of time spent underwater. Three dual-coil motors allow for quick operation of the hands to quickly switch between current time display and elapsed dive time. Pairing with the CASIO WATCHES smartphone app also allows users to review their diving activity records, including dive times and locations, and easily access tide charts for approximately 3,300 locations worldwide.
