Pioneering cutting-edge technologies: High-end medical imaging developer VITAL HealthCare debuts at CMEF

SHANGHAI, April 13, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 11, 2024, VITAL HealthCare, one of the five major business divisions of VITAL Group, marked an impressive debut at the 89th China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) in Shanghai. Leveraging the Group's core competency in R D and its wealth of high-quality raw materials, devices, modules and system R D resources, VITAL HealthCare has grabbed attention with its forward-looking product development plan at this inaugural exhibition.

At the exhibition, VITAL HealthCare presented a portfolio of advanced imaging solutions. Leading the line was its photon counting CT (PCCT) system in development: VITA PCCT, a next-generation CT imaging technique poised to redefine the future of diagnostic imaging. Also introduced were the VITA 7.0T ultra-high field MRI and VITA PET/CT, both in the portfolio, as well as the commercially available ASTA 1.5T superconducting MRI. These products, each with their unique strength, are pillars of support for the early detection and accurate diagnosis of medical conditions. They also exemplify VITAL HealthCare's dedication to pioneering the cutting edge of medical imaging and creating an array of high-end medical imaging products for the entire industry.

Revolutionizing conventional CT technology, PCCT adopts photon counting-based tomography using CZT (cadmium zinc telluride, CdZnTe) detectors for photon counting and energy analysis, enabling precise measurement and recording of each passing x-ray photon to reveal unparalleled details of internal structures. Innovation in direct PCCT imaging transcends the limitations of conventional CT imaging of crosstalk, electronic noise, and energy mixing, significantly improving image resolution, which is critical for identifying minute anomalies. Additionally, PCCT's greater sensitivity and accuracy in photon counting provide improved images with less radiation exposure, minimizing the radiation risks patients face. PCCT also excels in true multispectral imaging through its ability to differentiate substances and tissues using various photon energy signatures. In an era of change and innovation, high-end medical imaging faces a dual landscape of opportunities and challenges. By increasing investment in R&D and enhancing its technological advantage, VITAL HealthCare will expand its market reach while fostering collective growth in the global medical imaging industry through synergistic partnerships.
