RELEASE: Miswear, the eCommerce "Made in Spain" captures the attention of investors and expands in Asia

Alicante, September 13, 2023.

The footwear e-commerce platform "Made in Spain" celebrates its fourth anniversary with significant growth that has captured the attention of investors and has allowed it to consolidate its presence in Asia. The opening of a warehouse in Hong Kong marks a strategic step to address the markets of China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan

In an increasingly interconnected world, e-commerce has experienced exponential growth, opening opportunities for companies in all sectors. In this context, Miswear, the eCommerce platform specialized in "Made in Spain" footwear, has been gaining market share within the Spanish footwear sector, leading international expansion and conquering Asian markets. Its impressive track record over the last four years has consolidated its position as a benchmark in the export of Spanish footwear in the East. Since its founding in 2019 by Ecommedia, a consultancy specializing in international strategy and digital marketing, Miswear has experienced exponential growth despite the difficulties encountered in the global pandemic. In 2022, the company doubled its sales compared to the previous year, reaching an accumulated turnover of 2.43 million euros since the start of the pilot project. Although this figure may seem modest compared to large-scale projects, it represents a significant milestone for an e-commerce project financed with its own funds and in such a distant market, with the difficulties that come with cultural and language differences. These results have attracted the attention of investors specialized in the footwear sector, who have acquired 50% of the company, with a significant injection of capital, which has allowed the platform to expand, establishing a subsidiary in Hong Kong, strategically located to address the markets of Mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. Miswear's decision to focus on Asian markets is no coincidence. The growth of e-commerce in Asia is reaching impressive figures, positioning it as the fastest growing region in the world. According to 2022 data, eCommerce in Asia has seen an incredible 51% increase, far surpassing the United States and Europe at 35% and 42%, respectively. As for Spanish footwear in Asia, this sector has experienced significant growth, especially in the People's Republic of China, where sales in value have registered an impressive increase of 114.5%, showing the increase in demand for higher quality footwear. by the consumers of the Asian giant. Despite the growth experienced in China, Japan continues to lead the ranking in Asia, with an increase of 48.4% in pairs and 25.6% in value in Spanish footwear exports. This accelerated expansion in the East presents a unique opportunity for companies like Miswear, which seek to capitalize on the eCommerce boom and bring Spanish footwear to rapidly growing Asian markets. The development of the platform is largely attributed to the professional career of its founders. On the one hand, Andrés Rodes, an international trade specialist with extensive experience in Asia, has played a fundamental role in strategic trade planning and implementation in the Far East. On the other hand, Francisco Galindo has extensive experience in the technology and digital marketing sector, being the founder of one of the main vertical footwear portals in Spain. Once the foundations of the project were established, the founders, in a strategic move to promote the expansion of Miswear, announced the success obtained in the financing rounds that have attracted investment from prominent players specialized in the footwear sector, such as Idia Trust
