Madrid, December 13, 2022.- The twelfth edition of the Young Business Talents educational contest is underway and already has applicants applying to become better entrepreneurs. A total of 10,634 students, belonging to 389 educational centers throughout Spain, are fighting to achieve the title of 'best virtual entrepreneur in the country', in this national competition organized by ABANCA, ESIC, Herbalife Nutrition and Praxis MMT.

During the next four months, the more than 10,600 young people will have to demonstrate their business talent and management skills by having to run their own virtual company using an advanced business management simulator, a powerful tool in the world of training developed by Praxis MMT, which is transferred free of charge to educational centers and valued at more than 3,000 euros. Students will experience first-hand how day-to-day life is lived within a company, becoming authentic managers.

In this edition, the autonomous communities with the greatest participation are: Andalusia with 1,556 students, Catalonia with 1,456, Galicia with 1,375, the Community of Madrid with 1,055, and Castilla y León with 1,047 students. This year participation has increased by 1.3%, compared to the 10,423 students from 392 educational centers who enrolled last year. Regarding participation by gender, 51% are men and 49% are women.

“This unique gamification project in Spain allows thousands of young people to put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom in a playful way. They live a real experience of the economy in first person, so that they experiment and reflect without fear of being wrong, and that they can learn from their mistakes. This educational initiative helps them orient themselves for their academic and professional future, providing them with added value to their curriculum”, explains Mario Martínez, director of Young Business Talents.

Until the national final is held, which will take place next April in person in Madrid, the young people, students of 4th ESO, Baccalaureate and intermediate and higher grade training cycles, will participate online from the classrooms, and with the help of their teachers, to overcome different phases. The objective to achieve a place in the final will be that your dairy company becomes the most prosperous and with the maximum profits in the market.

To do this, they will have to make the best decisions in real time related to the management of the company and not go bankrupt, the same as the managers in real companies: define the business strategy, take into account the competition, changes in the market and different variables, as well as managing different areas such as marketing, finance, production or human resources.

The 75 best teams will reach the national final to dispute the title of 'best virtual entrepreneur in Spain'. The winning teams will distribute more than 11,000 euros in prizes among students and teachers, as well as supporting diplomas. During the last edition, three Galician students from the IES San Tomé de Freixeiro in Pontevedra, won the victory after defeating more than 300 applicants from all over Spain.
