Color Scheme Celebrates Hello Kitty's 50th Anniversary with Looks from 1974 Debut

TOKYO, Jan. 12, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio Computer Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of the latest addition to its BABY-G family of shock-resistant watches. The new BGD-565KT features the popular HELLO KITTY character from Sanrio Co., Ltd.

This very special watch commemorates the 50th anniversary of HELLO KITTY and the 30th anniversary of BABY-G.

The collaborative watch is based on the BGD-565, which inherits the design of the first BABY-G model. The new watch features the white, red and blue color scheme of the first HELLO KITTY designs from 1974. The red and blue rings on the strap accentuate the white base tone of the design.

The strap, made of bio-based resin, is covered with printed faces of the charming 70s animated character: HELLO KITTY laughing, winking and looking surprised. When the backlight is on, his eyes, nose and whiskers appear on the watch's LCD screen and are topped with the bow design on the dial to complete HELLO KITTY's face.

In addition to a total of 50 HELLO KITTY details covering the entire watch to celebrate its 50th anniversary, this collaborative model is presented in special packaging that includes a cloth bag inspired by the watch's design.
