STATEMENT: Delta Introduces IPack65 Compact Outdoor Rectifier System to Power 5G Cell Sites

(Information sent by the signatory company)

HOOFDDORP, Netherlands, Nov. 29, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta, a global leader in thermal and energy management solutions, introduces its new IPack65, a compact outdoor rectifier system, under the Eltek brand, a Delta brand. With its dust- and water-proof design, the system achieves IP65 protection level. With an impressive 97.7% efficiency, this modular and versatile solution is designed to power telecommunications systems. Its compact form ensures seamless deployment and integration into intelligently controlled networks and cloud environments. With exceptional application flexibility, the IPack65 proves especially adept at providing power for 5G antennas and other applications ranging from 2 to 8 kW.

Andreas Grewing, Vice President of Telecommunications Power Solutions in the EMEA region at Delta Electronics, explains: "The deployment of 5G has significantly increased the amount of radio equipment in the telecommunications network. The newly launched IPack65 addresses the intensified power demands near the antennas with its specially designed outdoor rectifier system. It is not just a power solution; it is a strategic response to the evolving demands of next-generation telecommunications networks."

An ideal solution for 5G outdoor antenna systems

Designed to meet the power demands of 5G technology and beyond, the IPack65 offers flexible and efficient power supply for wide area communication networks. This compact, cost-effective rectifier, designed for easy installation, ensures reliable power supply for telecommunications equipment. The system, with two modules of 2 kW each, can be extended without problems up to a maximum output of 48 V and 8 kW, thanks to its modular design that allows up to four modules to be connected in different positions. Dust and waterproof to the IP65 standard, the IPack65 is designed specifically for outdoor use, with low operating costs attributed to its impressive 97.7% efficiency and convection cooling, eliminating the need for fans or filters and minimizing regular maintenance. . The absence of active cooling not only reduces system PUE, but also contributes to a reduced carbon footprint. Equipped with the Smartpack S intelligent controller, the IPack65 supports integration with cloud-based smart grids, providing quick feedback and enabling remote maintenance for efficient upgrade of configurations.

Flexibility for adaptation

In addition to its compact design and rugged certified housing, the IPack65 offers a suite of customizable features to meet custom specifications. Compatible with a wide range of input voltages (85-275 VAC or 85-410 VDC) and with 400 VDC or AC, it offers versatile deployment options. The system includes a backup feature with IP65 rated batteries and a T2 type outdoor cabinet equipped with lithium-ion batteries, ensuring operational continuity in the event of a power failure. Ideal for tower installations powered by an uninterrupted 400 VDC supply, the IPack65's lightweight casing increases its suitability. Notable features also include a surge protection device (SPD), two battery distribution switches, and 15 load distribution switches that can be customized. Easy wiring is facilitated by an input terminal and cable tie bar, while a bottom-visible LED indicator provides clear system status information to on-site service personnel.

The IPack65 is available in the global market starting November 29, 2023. For more information, please visit: https://www.eltek.com/insights/IP65/
