PARIS, April 18, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- UNESCO and Huawei yesterday launched Phase II of the Technology Open School System for All (TeOSS) project at the UNESCO Digital Futures of Education Seminar, announcing that the second phase will be developed from 2024 to 2027 in Brazil, Thailand and Egypt. The first phase has already benefited thousands of educators in Egypt, Ghana and Ethiopia.
Aligned with the UN SDG4, TeOSS aims to build more crisis-resilient, inclusive and future-ready education systems by leveraging technology to provide digital resources, training and policy support to educators and students.

Summary of Phase 1 of Open Schools
Phase I of TeOSS ran from 2020 to 2024 in Egypt, Ethiopia and Ghana. UNESCO and Huawei supported the education ministries of the three African countries in the design, implementation and evaluation of open school systems in three pilot projects.
As part of this process, ministerial representatives of the three nations shared progress, best practices and experiences from the first phase yesterday at the UNESCO seminar.

Also at the UNESCO seminar, representatives from Brazil, Thailand and Egypt discussed key national issues facing education and how Phase II of the TeOSS project can help resolve them.

TeOSS is aligned with the educational domain of Huawei's TECH4ALL digital inclusion initiative, which aims to leverage technology to drive equity and quality in education.
