Below, Álvaro García Fernández, CEO and founder of Preseeente, explains more about this idea.
How did the idea of the 'give yourself time' project promoted by Preseeente come about?
The idea was born from a gift; I had a person in my environment who was not having a good time in terms of mental health. To try to cheer her up, I decided to give her an hourglass and, during that time, I had to do something that would make her happy. This little “nonsense” worked and that person was happy every time they looked at the clock, thinking that there was someone so concerned about them that they had given them “time of happiness.”
That gave me an idea: if I have been able to help one person, why not more?
The second person I tried it with was my mother, I gave it to her without saying anything, her reaction gave me the final push to turn that small idea into a company.
Why do you think it is a good idea to give an hourglass?
It is a symbol, in a society as fast-paced as the current one and that abuses the screen so much. An hourglass, without notifications, without a second hand... is the perfect symbol to remind us that time is very valuable and that somehow it runs out. So it is important to dedicate time to ourselves and our loved ones.

What elements does the product include?
The product comes with a 16 cm high black hourglass, with a 2 cm wooden stand and a card with the activity you want to dedicate that time to, with a small story on the back that reminds us of the importance of not losing time and dedicate it to yourself.
Is it possible to personalize the gift?
Yes, you can select any of the activities we propose (time for yourself, for yoga, for reading, for music, for relaxation...). At the moment, it is not possible to choose outside of what is already designed, but we are working on doing so.
At what times do you think it is ideal to use a Preseeente hourglass?
It is always a good time to dedicate time to yourself, I personally love putting it on to read, plus in my house it is like a code, when the sand is falling, that time is mine and no one can bother me, and of course, the cell phone far.
Who would this gift be ideal for?
Well, I'm jumping into the pool, now many opponents are asking me to do so, who are tremendously focused on the opposition and, sometimes, stop dedicating time to themselves. Having those 10, 15 or 30 minutes for them and knowing that they are going to dedicate that time helps them rest, concentrate and perform better.
But, of course, anyone who values and maybe has forgotten to take time for themselves, it's a good symbol to remind them.
