Casar de Cáceres, April 22. - The Regulatory Council of the Torta del Casar Protected Designation of Origin attends the thirty-seventh edition of Salón Gourmets, International Fair of Quality Food and Beverages, which is held in Madrid from April 22 to 25 at IFEMA. This edition is special for the D.O.P Torta del Casar because it is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary.
The D.O.P Torta del Casar is present at stand 4F33, in Extremadura Avante, in pavilion four. This is a joint space for products covered by Denominations of Origin of Extremadura. There will be presentations, commented tastings and culinary preparations with these products of differentiated quality.
The objective is to publicize the Torta del Casar and its characteristics among those attending the Gourmets Show, one of the main international showcases of high-end products. For this, two activities have been scheduled this Monday. On the one hand, there will be a pairing tasting together with the D.O Ribera del Guadiana, and on the other hand, there will be a comparative tasting of the four Extremaduran cheeses with D.O.P.
Furthermore, to promote the product, chef Alejandro Hernández from the Cáceres restaurant Versátil, which has a Michelin star and a Repsol sun, is going to prepare several preparations with Torta del Casar as the main ingredient. On Tuesday you can taste a 'Torta del Casar curd cream and Villuercas Ibores Jara honey ice cream', on Wednesday a 'Mini croquette of Torta del Casar and honey gelatin veil D.O.P. Villuercas Ibores Jara' and on Thursday the public will be able to taste a 'Ravioli de frité of Goat from Extremadura with Monterrubio EVOO, Torta del Casar sauce and cubes of Dehesa de Extremadura Iberian Ham'.
The director of the D.O.P. Torta del Casar, Javier Muñoz, highlights that “Madrid Gourmets continues to be one of the largest high-quality food fairs nationwide, making it a fundamental showcase to present the product and reach more and more experts in the gastronomic sector.” .
“In this edition, the Denominations of Origin have an important role because we act as the standard bearers of Extremadura, taking our products to a first-class stage. The goal is for more and more people to know about Torta del Casar and the infinite possibilities it offers,” concludes Muñoz.
