FRANKFURT, Germany, Feb. 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- A unique Kia installation, made with experiential design studio VOID and creative agency Innocean, has brought sunlight to one of Norway's dark areas, a country where the sun barely rises in winter, with a 5-meter LED disk powered by a Kia EV9.

This temporary sun demonstrates the impressive energy capabilities of the EV9's vehicle-to-charge (V2L) technology and emphasizes the importance of sunlight, as a lack of light can affect energy levels, mental health, system immune system and a person's sleep pattern.

"The EV9 is exciting when it's moving, but also when it's stopped, with innovative features like two-way charging," said David Hilbert, marketing director, Kia Europe. "This technology can expand the role that electric vehicles play in our lives, whether it is for camping, providing a power source for a mobile office or even being part of the broader electrical grid with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. )".

The lighting installation was installed at Rampton, a campsite on a fjord 35 kilometers southwest of Oslo. The picturesque beach, with a small island in front of it, was an ideal place to imitate a sunrise along the coast. Once fully illuminated, the temporary sun could be seen from several kilometers away. The EV9 was able to drive from Oslo to Rampton, turn on the light for twenty-four hours, and then return to Oslo without range anxiety. A documentary about the lighting installation can be seen here.

Already a multi-award winner, the EV9 combines SUV power, cutting-edge electric vehicle styling and advanced technologies, putting it at the forefront of the SUV category. Built on the global electric modular platform, the EV9 guarantees athletic performance and an all-electric range of more than 563 km. Its ultra-fast charging capacity of 800 volts allows you to recharge up to 249 km of autonomy in just 15 minutes.
