After her, the case manager of El Ejido, Isabel Peña, will address case management in a community environment to give way to the table 'The Specialty of Family and Community Nursing: training and skills' by Alicia María Villegas, family and community nursing resident of the Almería District teaching unit.

The closing of these days will be carried out by the Andalusian Association of Family and Community Nursing (Asanec), which, represented by its president, María Dolores Ruiz, and by the provincial member Evangelina Martínez, will analyze 'The role of scientific societies in the development of the profession'.

As Ruiz explained, "Asanec, as a scientific society, pursues the improvement of healthcare quality at the community level from the defense of public health, influencing and dialoguing with the Administrations."

To this end, "deepening the professional development of Family and Community Nursing is key to offering quality care, with professionals trained in primary care with a community focus," he said.

The president of Asanec has stressed that the training skills of family and community nurses "make this group a fundamental actor in the provision of comprehensive care to individuals, families and the community." Not in vain, "family and community nurses are more than trained in public and community health; epidemiological surveillance; teaching; management of care and services in the family and community environment; and research in the area of nursing" .

In this context, the president of Asanec has highlighted "the work in health promotion and prevention" of family and community nurses "in promoting a healthy and cohesive society, promoting health from all its areas and encouraging the well-being of the population".

It should be remembered that, "according to data from the Ministry of Health, the dependency rate in Spain is 54.3 percent, with 29.9 percent in people over 64 years of age and 24.4 percent in young people, following an upward trend in older people in the coming years," Ruiz stressed.

In Andalusia, these dependency figures for older people are, according to the National Institute of Statistics, at 27.7 percent. Therefore, "we are facing a growing vulnerable population, which requires quality care, with high demand for services and where health costs are high."

Ruiz has also highlighted the work carried out by family and community nurses in countries such as Canada, the United States, Ireland and the United Kingdom, where the incorporation of these professionals to screening consultations and the prescription of medications has contributed to "resolving the problems." problems of citizen care, improving accessibility, continuity and quality of care.
