The former superintendent of schools for the Weehawken school district, Joseph Wisniewski, died on Feb. 3.

The Rutherford resident was 77. Wisniewski was superintendent for 15 years before retiring in 1995, the Daily Voice of Rutherford reported. He was also a football coach at Weehawken High School, the website said.

Outside of the school district, Wisniewski was an avid golfer and a private pilot, the Daily Voice said.

Visitation is today, Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, Rutherford. Funeral is tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Rutherford.
