Houston-area native Adam Rodgers recently caught a 54 pound catfish at Lake Conroe, proving there's more than one hot spot in Bayou City to reel in a monster.

Rodgers reeled in the giant on Sunday with his father just as the pair were about to call it a day.

"We had caught quite a few catfish and decided it was time 1xbet to head in," said Rodgers. "I had already reeled in one of my lines when my father told me something was hitting the other pole."

Initially believing the hook was snagged, the Woodlands resident quickly realized he was in for a fight.

Rodgers, a Marine who served in Iraq between 2002-2006 as an infantry machine gunner, said he was having trouble managing the massive fish.

"I had to kneel down and roll her in the boat," said Rodgers. "It was like pulling a log from out of the water."
