UES penthouse bequeathed to writer sells for $1.87M

A penthouse at Cumberland House, located at 30 E. 62nd St., last owned by late author/screenwriter Peter Feibleman, has sold for $1.87 million, just over its $1.85 million asking price.

His works included a novel, “A Place without Twilight,” and the screenplay for “Ensign Pulver.”

The property had been bequeathed to Feibleman by the late Frances Lear, the ex-wife of television producer Norman Lear, who was an activist, publisher and writer in her own right.

The one-bedroom, one-bathroom co-op comes with lots of light, high ceilings and two wrap terraces.

The listing brokers were Halstead’s Robert Dowling and Debra Solomon Pendleton.
