City names new commissioner to lead embattled ACS

Mayor de Blasio has named a new commissioner to lead his embattled child-welfare agency, according to a report Monday.

David Hansell — who held top jobs with the city, state and federal governments before going to work for the giant accounting and consulting firm KPMG — will take over the Administration for Children’s Services in March, NY1 reported.

Hansell will replace Gladys Carrion, who abruptly resigned in December, one day before the state released a scathing report on repeated blunders by ACS workers that led to the beating death of 6-year-old Zymere Perkins.

Carrion’s final day of work was Feb. 3.
