Orlando Sanford International Airport is expanding its air service options in April with a new nonstop flight to Aruba.
The service, offered by Surinam Airways, will begin April 3, according to airport leaders.
“Our customers are going to be thrilled about the advent of weekly flights from Orlando Sanford to the beautiful island of Aruba,” said Diane Crews, airport president.
The weekly service will connect Orlando Sanford and Queen Beatrix International Airport. The flights include service to and from Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Flights will depart Orlando Sanford Tuesday at 4 p.m. and arrivals will come in Mondays at 4 p.m., according to the airport. Passengers will fly on a Boeing 737-300 which has 126 seats, eight business class and 118 economy.
Surinam Airways was originally founded in 1955 and is headquartered in Suriname, located on the northeastern coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
The airline has offered seasonal nonstop flight from Georgetown, Guyana and direct flights from Paramaribo, Suriname into Orlando Sanford since 2015.
Surinam Airways is promoting the new air service on its website with a collage of photos of Central Florida’s theme parks, specifically highlighting Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando.
