A Naperville mother who authorities said pointed a loaded pistol at two men repossessing her van was convicted on two misdemeanors charges and acquitted on two others by a DuPage County jury Wednesday night.

Jurors found Katherine Reccord, 30, guilty of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, while finding her not guilty of another assault count and a firearm owner's identification card violation. The panel, which was selected Tuesday, delivered its verdict Wednesday evening after listening to a day of testimony and arguments from attorneys.

Reccord, who has been free on bond, could face up to a year of jail time on the assault charge, or lesser punishment, such as probation. She is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 28.

Reccord, the mother of two, was charged after she allegedly pointed a gun at the men who were repossessing her 2006 van about 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2015. According to authorities, one of the men was trying to enter the van parked outside Reccord's apartment while another tried to serve Reccord with paperwork when she came outside, armed with a 9 mm handgun.

One of the men called 911, and Reccord drove off in the van with one of her children, according to reports. Police stopped her a short distance away and booked her. No one was injured.

In an interview with the Naperville Sun published a few days after her arrest, Reccord said the men did not identify themselves, and she thought they were trying to steal the van.
