Trump embraces banks

He who ran hard and railed loudly against Wall Street banks wasted no time in betraying his promise (and American investors) by signing an executive order for yet another round of Wall Street deregulation. Didn’t he refer to Hillary as Wall Street’s handmaiden? Crooked Hillary? No smug cackling from Hillary voters, please - it was Slick Willy who bestowed upon Wall Street the same lucrative gift by dismantling the Glass-Steagall Act. The only difference was that Clinton’s betrayal earned bipartisan support in Congress.

Trump prefers the autocratic pen to the democratic process, but make no mistake: the damage done and the danger revived demonstrates just who’s calling the shots in D.C. “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” Hard to miss the broad grin on the face of his Goldman Sachs appointee standing over the signing ceremony.
