Player of the week

Isaac Navarro, Pearsall: junior, forward — Averaged 30.5 points, 11 rebounds and two steals, while shooting 22 of 34 from the field, as the Mavericks beat Lytle and Carrizo Springs to improve to 5-2 in District 29-4A. Averaging a team-high 13.7 points for the season.

Game balls

Judson’s Shelby Adams averaged 23.5 points, going 17 of 30 from the field and 11 of 13 from the free-throw line, to lead the Rockets to 27-6A wins over Clemens and Smithson Valley.

Jefferson’s Noah Soto finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds and two steals as the Mustangs beat Sam Houston 59-50 to clinch at least a share of the 28-5A title.

Johnson’s James Nemeth scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Jaguars to a 53-52 victory over first-place Reagan, which moved them into a three-way tie for second place in 26-6A.
