Thomas is expected to meet with the Dolphins and undergo a physical examination today to complete the deal. He reportedly has agreed to restructure his contract expedite the deal.

Thomas has been a major disappointment since he signed a five-year, $46 million contract in 2015. He has caught 76 passes for 736 yards and nine touchdowns in 21 games with the Jaguars. He caught just 30 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns in nine games in 2016.

Thomas will reunite with Dolphins head coach Adam Gase. Gase was the offensive coordinator with the Denver Broncos in 2013 and 2014, the same years Thomas posted career-high numbers in Denver. Thomas caught 108  passes for 1,277 yards and 24 touchdowns during those seasons.
