Coming off of the best season of his career, Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril announced via social media that he underwent offseason surgery on Tuesday.
In posts to Instagram and Twitter, Avril wrote:
"Surgery was a success!!! God is Good!!! Now my wife has three babies to take care of lol #GREATDRUGS"

The photo shows that Avril was under the care of Dr. William Meyers, a Philadelphia-based core injuries specialist who has performed surgeries on Avril's Seahawks teammates Marshawn Lynch and Mike Morgan, as well as Mariners star Robinson Cano in the last year-and-a-half.
The 30-year-old Avril led the Seahawks with a career-high 11.5 sacks, 26 quarterback hits and five forced fumbles, which helped earn him the first Pro Bowl berth of his nine-year NFL career.
He is the second Seattle star to announce a surgery via social media after strong safety Kam Chancellor posted a picture of himself on Instagram after what appeared to be foot/ankle surgery last week.
