As a 19-year-old playing for the storied San Antonio Spurs, Dejounte Murray had no idea how this season would go.

He didn’t know if he would play. He didn’t know if he would fit in. He didn’t know if he would find success.

The only thing he knew for sure was that he was going to work hard.

“I trust my work ethic,” Murray said. “I know I’m a good learner. I’m not one of those guys who you have to keep telling the same thing over and over.”

Murray has seen a smattering of everything this season.

There have been times when he was sent to the Spurs’ development league team in Austin. There have been games where he hasn’t seen a second of playing time. And there have been games where he has started and shown glimmers of greatness.
