Police arrested a 23-year-old man Thursday who is accused of repeatedly breaking into a woman's residence in Seguin and rearranging things in her apartment.

Sadaqat Abbasi was arrested at his Guadalupe County home without incident on a stalking charge, a third-degree felony. He was booked into the Guadalupe County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

"Our streets and homes are a little safer today..... Actually, much, much safer," said Deputy Chief Bruce Ure in a Facebook post.

Seguin police say Abbasi was "covertly" breaking into the woman's apartment, and "at minimum" moving objects around the residence.

"The victim notified the Seguin Police Department that on multiple occasions, some small things in her residence 'were not right' and 'out of position,'" Ure said.

Police say they chose to charge Abbasi with stalking rather than burglary since the multiple break-ins caused the woman to fear for her safety.

Abbasi was identified by police using forensic evidence.
