A 51-year-old Central Texas man with ties to the Aryan Brotherhood was arrested Monday in Austin for allegedly trafficking a 16-year-old girl for sex and possessing nude photos of her, court documents show.

James Aaron Lenox, of Del Valle, was charged with a first-degree felony of trafficking a child to engage in sexual conduct. His bond has been set at $1 million.

Prior to his Monday arrest, Lenox was arrested in Comal County in early January for possession of child pornography, possession of marijuana and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force provided mySA.com with a copy of the warrant against Lenox, who was pulled over in a traffic stop by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 1 near the intersection of Wildwood Drive and Cranes Mills Road in Canyon Lake.

After Lenox consented to a vehicle search, deputies found a briefcase containing separate folders. In one folder with a girl’s name on it, the deputies found several nude photos, documents state.

The photos were printed on “quality paper” and were either placed inside page protectors or had been partially laminated in order to protect the pages from being damaged, according to the warrant.

The briefcase also contained a detailed ledger of deposits and expenses with the girl’s full name, along with her grandmother. The ledger showed purchases made at Victoria’s Secret, Planet K, Target and Motel 6, among others. The case also had paperwork showing that Lenox had guardianship over the girl who had been shown in the nude photos, the warrant said.

The girl, 16, resides in Canyon Lake and lived in close proximity to where the traffic stop occurred.

Lenox and the young girl had a joint bank account set up at a Wells Fargo, with Lenox listed as her uncle. That checking account was opened in September 2016 in Austin, according to the warrant.

Investigators later learned the suspect became a guardian for the victim to help the victim’s grandmother. The investigators also learned from the victim that the suspect said he was going to marry the girl and “if she talked he would kill her family.”

Lenox also allegedly took the girl to Planned Parenthood to get an IUD implanted, the documents said.

On Feb. 2, authorities conducted a follow-up forensic interview with the girl, who said she performed oral sex on Lenox and was sexually assaulted by him. The victim said she never wanted to do anything with Lenox, but “he had provided so much for her and the family by purchasing food and giving her mother money for drugs, which she felt she owed him,” according to the warrant.

She also said Lenox requested nude photos from her at one point, which she took and were later printed by Lenox, according to the document.

Lenox is a registered sex offender who was convicted of indecency with a child via sexual contact in January 1989. The girl he molested was 8 years old.

Aside from sexual charges, Lenox has previously been charged with burglary, larceny, failure to comply with sex offender registration duties, public order crimes and engaging in organized criminal activity, the warrant said.

If convicted of the first-degree felony charge, Lenox faces five to 99 years or life in prison.
