Thailand: Military government announces elections

Thailand's military government plans to hold 2018 elections in November. This was announced by Juntachef and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. The military has ruled in Thailand since it was in May 2014 after months of political unrest with nearly 30 deaths to power. Elections had postponed military government several times.

In a controversial referendum in August 2016, military had enforced a new constitution. Among or things, it is now possible to appoint all senators, and it may also be a non-elected head of government. Six seats in Senate should be reserved for army commanders.

Thailand's former prime minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, was set off by Constitutional Court shortly before coup. In September of this year she was sentenced to five years in prison in absentia for corruption.

Shinawatra is accused of having caused subsidies for rice cultivation costs in billions of dollars. I want her to stay in Dubai. The former Ministerpräsidentinhat in Thailand still have a great support, especially in poorer parts of population.
