Facebook: Like it or leave it?

Facebook is struggling with its biggest data abuse scandal so far. Many users leave the social platform. And they? Stay or go?

Facebook: Like it or leave it?

Mark Zuckerberg is still silent. But not for long: The Facebook founder will have to explain how data of 50 million users in 2015 could reach company Cambridge Analytica. The data analysis company had accessed profiles of users using an app that performs a personality test. Not only ir data, but also those of ir Facebook friends were collected, evaluated and continued to be used: Cambridge Analytica, which had close ties with Donald Trump's campaign strategist Steve Bannon, could use data in US election campaign Intervened by targeting undecided voters with personalized ads.

One of co-founders of Cambridge Analytica, Christopher Wylie, said in an interview with Observer that Facebook had already known in 2015 that data did not serve scientific purposes. Facebook is following se statements in perhaps biggest scandal of its brief history. The case also raises question of how many more apps could act similarly: a gateway in many smartphones could be so-called Facebook login button, which allows you to use apps like Spotify and TripAdvisor.

After a series of scandals, many of trusts in social network have finally been exhausted. Under hashtag DeleteFacebook, Brian Acton, co-founder of WhatsApp, has now called to leave platform. Acton, who sold WhatsApp to Facebook in 2014, started a call that many users seem to follow.

Or do your personal decision outweigh advantages – uncomplicated contact with your girlfriend in Sweden, collective invitation for your birthday? Will this new data scandal change something about your user behavior? Or are you already careful with your data? Where do you see responsibility – on part of users, on Facebook or rar in politics?
