Donald Trump: No reconciliation with Enrique Peña Nieto

US President Trump and his Mexican counterpart are to be clashed again because of the construction of a wall. Now there are plans for a meeting on ice.

Donald Trump: No reconciliation with Enrique Peña Nieto

A heated telephone call between US President Donald Trump and Mexico's head of state Enrique Peña Nieto has, according to a report, prevented reconciliation of two politicians for time being. The preparations for a personal meeting in Washington were canceled after two politicians clasheded in phone call again because of controversial construction of a border wall to Mexico, Washington Post reported on weekend.

Peña Nieto's office did not want to comment on reports at first. A senior US government representative, on or hand, confirmed on Saturday that two Presidents "agreed that at present it is not right time for a visit, but that teams on both sides will continue to work toger".

The United States National Security Council attempted to confront reports of a breach in relations. Spokesman Michael Anton said that in recent years governments have been working to deepen ir cooperation – for example in security, immigration and trade policy.

Campaign Promise Masonry

The Washington Post reported that Trump and Peña Nieto had phoned on Tuesday for about 50 minutes. For scandal, it came when Trump refused to publicly acknowledge Mexican stance that country would not pay for boundary wall planned by Trump. Trump lost version. US officials, in turn, described Trump as frustrated and unwilling because he deemed Peña Nieto's claim to be totally inappropriate, detracting from his campaign promise.

Trump had repeatedly reiterated construction of a wall between two countries as one of his main promises during his campaign and also as president. In its draft budget to Congress, Trump has requested 23 billion dollars for border security. A large part of this is to be used for construction of a border wall.

Peña Nieto had already canceled a visit to Washington a few months ago, after Trump threatened to introduce a punitive tax on Mexican products to finance wall. The term of office of Mexican President ends this year.
