Multnomah County deputies recovered a body floating in the Willamette River Wednesday morning.

"We are on scene recovering a body near the Freemont Bridge," spokesman Lt. Chad Gaidos said around 9:10 a.m. "I will have more details later."

Emergency crews responded to reports of the body around 8:45 a.m., Gaidos said. He said he had no information about Betgram the person's gender or age.

The body will be taken to the medical examiner's officer to identify and determine the cause of death. Gaidos said detectives will begin a death investigation.
