MADRID, 5 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of Fundación La Caixa, Isidre Fainé, has returned for the seventh consecutive year in the position of most valued business manager in 2024, according to the latest Business Success report carried out by Advice Strategic Consultant.

Next, in second place, is the president of Caixabank, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, who is followed for the first time by three women who complete the 'top 5', these being the president of El Corte Inglés, Marta Álvarez; the president of Banco Santander, Ana Botín; and the president of Inditex, Marta Ortega.

Botín and Ortega have risen in the last year from positions six and seven, while Álvarez has returned to third position, as has the head of Caixabank in second.

These five businessmen are the only ones in Spain who exceed 80% approval both in their management and in their contribution to the success of their companies, based on business, management or social commitment criteria.

According to the general director of Advice Strategic Consultants, Jorge Díaz Cardiel, business management and social commitment are the "essential" factors that mark the good perception that opinion leaders have about business managers.

The 'top 10' of best-rated business managers in Spain are completed by the president of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete (with 78% approval); the president of Mercadona, Juan Roig (75%); the CEO of CaixaBank, Gonzalo Gortázar (72%); the president of Iberdrola, Ignacio Sánchez Galán (71%); and the vice president and CEO of Melia Hotels, Gabriel Escarrer (70%).

The fundamental characteristic that opinion leaders associate with the president of CriteriaCaixa, Isidre Fainé, is being a "guarantor of stability in times of uncertainty." From this point of view, opinion leaders grant Fainé an essential role in the Spanish economy since there is no other business group of the caliber of CriteriaCaixa with the exception of the SEPI (state).

The other essential facet that both opinion leaders, the general population and SMEs give to Isidre Fainé in his role as president of 'La Caixa' Foundation is his social commitment to Spain and less favored communities and territories.

For their part, the president of CaixaBank, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, and his CEO, Gonzalo Gortázar, stand out in the top positions for being an "example of collaboration" and, as a consequence, stability in management.

Meanwhile, Marta Álvarez is credited with a business success story, from ownership, with a new business model that has given the company the best results in its last year, and after having implemented "the best corporate governance practices." .

Meanwhile, Ana Botín and Marta Ortega, with different years of experience at the head of their respective companies, emerge as two business managers who are achieving records of income and international expansion.
