The government launches calls for interest when a ministry explores a new type of market. The objective of this process is to obtain comments and relevant information about a targeted sector of activity, and thus specify what the government needs in order to eventually award a contract.

In this case, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources believes that the implementation of “regional energy ecosystem” projects should stimulate the development of green hydrogen and bioenergy sectors.

These initiatives would also have the potential to reduce the risks and costs associated with the production, distribution and consumption of these types of energy, thanks to the collaboration of all the actors in the chain.

By launching a call for interest, the government wants to act as a "catalyst" by listing these projects, offering a support structure to promoters, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, and ensuring the government coordination.

Producers, distributors, consumers and other actors in the chain who wish to join forces in forming a regional energy ecosystem must indicate their interest by September 30, 2022, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has announced. in a press release.

The information collected during the call for interest will be used in particular to prepare a call for projects to be launched in the fall of 2022.
