The Portland Bureau of Transportation announces road work on Tuesday to clear away several large trees from a landslide on West Burnside. Expect traffic delays during closures at various times 9 a.m.-3 p.m. today. The road will be closed intermittently to all traffic between Northwest Hermosa Boulevard and Southwest Barnes Road.

Work hours were timed to reduce the impact on traffic while still ensuring safe working conditions. Work is being coordinated so Portland General Electric crews can cut off power to the area to make it safe for tree removal.

Alternate routes include Northwest Cornell Road or U.S. 26. People walking or driving on West Burnside in the closure area should expect intermittent delays of up to 20 minutes at times as crews work to clear the trees.
