Talgo brings together the unions with Magyar Vagon, ignoring the intercenter committee, according to a UGT complaint

MADRID, 25 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

This Monday, Talgo has summoned a representative from each union section to hold a meeting with Magyar Vagon, the Hungarian company that has launched a Public Acquisition Offer (OPA) to take over the Spanish company.

UGT-FICA (Industry, Construction and Agriculture) denounces that Talgo has ignored the Intercenter Committee, which is the highest representative body of Talgo workers in Spain and in which all the company's unions are represented.

The union regrets that these meetings have been called by the company "with the sole objective of taking a photo with the union representatives without the possibility of negotiating future proposals."

UGT believes that the necessary process was to formalize a meeting in which minutes were drawn up on the content discussed, proposals were made in the face of the uncertainty created by the takeover bid launched by the Hungarian company, and the information discussed could be transferred to all workers. all this through the intercenter committee.

In any case, the union continues to demand that jobs in Spain be guaranteed, as well as the maintenance of the corporate headquarters in Spain and the implementation of an industrial project for a company that it considers "strategic", which is why it believes Government intermediation is necessary to ensure that all these demands materialize.

"We cannot forget that Talgo has all its productive capacity in Spain in the medium term, and that its plans to date included the opening of new production centers in our country, something about which until now no reference has been made, and especially taking into account that the Hungarian company has free productive capacity to manufacture in other countries," he warned.

Therefore, UGT FICA requires management that before calling any meeting it wants to hold with external companies, it must guarantee the employability and long-term industrial project of the company Talgo in Spain.
