ANNOUNCEMENT: Erum Vial successfully tests PF CONE, the world's first geolocated cone

This signaling element connects in real time with the traffic platform

The Erum Group, through its subsidiary Erum Vial, the company ALVAC and the link have successfully passed the first tests carried out to check and verify the correct operation of the connected cones, a device developed to inform, through different platforms, about the location of the works carried out on the road. Thanks to these tests, carried out on the Autovía del Reguerón (Murcia), it has been possible to verify the precise operation of the geolocation of the cones and confirm the correct reception in the management centers, such as the general traffic platform and other relevant institutions. Through the information issued by the connected cone, and its redistribution through servers to other government platforms, it will be possible to increase the safety of the workers who are on the road, since the alert for works will reach users before reaching the section affected by conservation and maintenance work through notices and messages, with the aim of exercising extreme caution; On the other hand, the connectivity system through CAT-m and NBioT already allows knowing the exact location of the works in real time, which offers an improvement in the management and control of the cut-off times of the track, reducing the risks and inconvenience to users. To prevent the risks of users who circulate on the road, and improve the safety of professionals who work in road maintenance, the PF CONE connected cone system was created. Among its features, it is worth mentioning the incorporation of lights, sensors and locators that will allow sending information such as the location of the work or the speed (in the event that it is a moving job). New functionalities are already being developed, such as the measurement of the intensity and speed of traffic circulation, emissions or even the possibility of knowing relevant climatological information, data that will allow improving management and safety in road maintenance work . The devices are certified in resistance and impermeability, ensuring their operation in extreme conditions, and have batteries that allow more than 72 hours of autonomy. PF CONE is not the only signaling element manufactured by Erum Group that will connect government entities in charge of managing traffic, emergencies or controlling any type of natural disaster that occurs. The PF LED ONE V16 emergency light, which will officially replace the emergency triangles on a mandatory basis from January 1, 2026, is also part of the offer of road safety devices, which will connect these entities and reduce traffic accidents .PF CONE connected, a system developed by road professionals To continue working on the functionality of connected cones and improve their commercial positioning, the Erum Group and the ALVAC works and services company have signed an agreement to work together, combining the research and technological development of Erum Vial with the experience in the execution and management of road works of ALVAC. Through this agreement, both corporations will offer technological solutions and information management services for connected cones to conservation and maintenance companies. You can see the video of the test, and the operation of the cone, in linkErum Vial is the road safety division of Grupo Erum, a Spanish group of companies with more than 80 years of experience that develops its activity in sectors such as industrial production of eco-friendly recycled plastic, the collaborative circular economy, waste management, packaging, the automotive industry and innovation in road safety.
