RELEASE: GWM ORA launches in Europe as latest market amid its global push

BAODING, China, Oct. 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- On Oct. 17, automaker GWM's fashion "pure electric brand" ORA launched its first model in the European market at the Paris Motor Show 2022, marking its entry into Europe's core market amid broader global expansion.

In response to the trend of electrification and smartening, GWM launched ORA as its first new energy vehicle brand. ORA presented three models at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. Among them, the ORA GOOD CAT (FUNKY CAT in the European market), the Euro NCAP five-star rated model, was officially launched in Europe and will be available in UK, Sweden, Germany, Israel and Iceland soon.

Europe is one of the regions with the most developed automobile industry in the world and the regulations for access to the vehicle market are quite strict. Since 2021, ORA, leveraging GWM's full industrial chain and R&D and production strength, has started its journey in Europe.

At IAA Mobility 2021, ORA introduced its European strategy, according to which the brand would make its global debut with more than 10 models in Europe by 2025. This year, ORA has participated in the Fully Charged Show in London and in EVS35 (the 35th Symposium and International Electric Vehicle Exhibition) in Norway, attracting the attention of local users.

In addition, ORA made its ORA APP public in Europe and established a European experience center in Germany, which enabled access for in-depth communication with users. The design of the experience center won the silver of the "German Brand Award 2022" from the German Design Committee.

In Asia, ORA attended the 2021 Bangkok International Motor Show in March last year. ORA GOOD CAT won the award for best electric vehicle design for its distinctive style. Only seven months later, this vehicle was officially launched in the Thai market and became a favorite fashion model for local users.

To provide users with a more convenient charging experience, ORA created a supercharging station integrating photovoltaic power generation, energy storage and charging in Thailand. ORA also coordinated its online and offline channels by establishing super experience stores of new retailers in local regions to improve and transform its pre-sale, sale and after-sale services.

At present, GWM ORA is accelerating its market readiness in Oceania, the Middle East and other regions, and also actively promoting the readiness of globalization.

As Rebecca Grajecki, Brand and Marketing Director of GWM Europe, said at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, "ORA will go global and offer digital, smart and entertainment products and services. It will become the intelligent companion that accompanies its drivers through their adventures, creating unforgettable memories and leading them towards a better tomorrow: a cleaner, brighter future with endless possibilities."
