Valencia, March 6, 2024.- The CEU Cardenal Herrera University and the SM Foundation have inaugurated the Permanent Seminar “Together we take care of education”. This is the first CEU Empresa Seminar Classroom, a space for teaching innovation that facilitates the relationship between university training and professional reality, promoting the adaptation of students to the demands of the professional world.

The inauguration of this SM Foundation – CEU Permanent Seminar was attended by the general director of the SM Foundation, Mayte Ortiz, as well as the rector of the CEU UCH, Higinio Marín, and the director of Institutional Development of the University, José Manuel Friend.

CEU Company Seminars

The Seminar “Together we take care of education” inaugurates this new initiative of the CEU UCH that aims to be a university-business meeting point, aimed at promoting the adaptation of students to the demands of the professional world.

“The project consists of creating teaching spaces where companies have a key role, since they define the contents of the activities and introduce professionals to the classroom to impart knowledge, pose challenges or propose other dynamics, directly accessing young talent,” highlighted the director of Institutional Development of the University, José Manuel Amiguet.

“It is about creating a real meeting point where the company's know-how comes together with the promotion of students' skills and abilities for their professional future,” he stressed.

A school that cares

The SM – CEU Foundation Seminar will have its permanent headquarters in Room 214 of the Faculty of Humanities and Communication Sciences, which has been specially equipped with references to the SM Foundation and the common thread of the different activities that will be carried out. develop in this environment focused on Education.

Precisely, with the conference “What is a school that cares?” led by the general director of the SM Foundation, this Seminar has been inaugurated. In her intervention, Mayte Ortiz has highlighted three characteristics that define a school of care: one that forms citizens capable of solving global challenges, within the framework of a relational system, and that favors commitment to the ethics of care. Because “we educate ourselves for the common good, the good of all,” she highlighted.

The general director of the SM Foundation has pointed out the value of launching this SM - CEU Foundation Seminar, “working together is a way to have better trained teachers.”

The inauguration of the Seminar Classroom closed with a discussion on the ethics of care as an educational paradigm, between Mayte Ortiz, students and assistant professors.
