The Academic Cluster of Transport and Safe and Sustainable Mobility, formed by ASTIC, AT Transport Academy, Corell Foundation, DAC Teaching and Ecodriver held a meeting with the General Directorate of Road Transport to present what they consider to be training priorities of Transport for 2024
Madrid, February 22, 2024.- The meeting, held at the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, was attended by: On behalf of the General Directorate of Transport• Roser Obrer, General Director of Road Transport• Marta Santamaría, Deputy Director General of Regulations and Planning of Land Transport• Manuel Roger Revilla, Technical Advisor of the Support UnitOn behalf of the Academic Cluster of Transport and Safe and Sustainable Mobility:• Ana Muñoz, Head of Training at ASTIC• Francisco Paz, Director of IR at AT Academia of the Transportist DAC Teaching and Ecodriver• José Víctor Esteban, Secretary General of the Corell FoundationDuring the meeting, the Academic Cluster presented three of its training priorities to be achieved in 2024:1. Equate the Virtual Classroom to the face-to-face modality in training dependent on the DGTT.2. Publish the OM that regulates Teletraining in CAP courses for professional drivers3. Promote vocational training as an access route, and with Driving Licenses, for professional drivers. In relation to the first measure, of equating the Virtual Classroom with face-to-face training, in those educational objectives that do not require practical training, the Cluster argued that other administrations, which also provide training specialties related to transportation, have legislated to equalize both modalities, using as an example the Resolution of November 24, 2023 of the General Directorate of the State Public Employment Service, in its article 2 establishes the "use of virtual classroom as face-to-face training". The virtual classroom is presented as a bet for the future as indicated by the SEPE. Furthermore, this resource not only represents a suitable teaching tool, but also facilitates access to training for a significantly larger number of participants. This accessibility extends to those who, due to time restrictions or geographical location, could not participate in traditional face-to-face training.
